Our Production Department
As a design and manufacturing company, producing an ever-increasing range of electronic power controllers, the Production department is the heart of United Automation. Varying from small orders to mass production, our team pride themselves on satisfying customer needs with delivering products on time. There are many stages involved within the manufacturing process and our Production team and Quality department ensures all products are manufactured to a high quality and standard, meeting with our IS09001 accreditation and all products produced are CE Marked. As a company, there is also a significant emphasis on the quality aspects of manufacturing with a constant eye on continual improvements and ‘lean manufacturing’ techniques.
Our Capabilities
- On average 60,000 individual units are sent out each year after being manufactured on our premises.
- Same Day dispatch for stock products, when orders are placed before 2.30pm
- On non-stock products which require manufacturing we provide the most efficient lead times possible.
Manufacturing Departments
The production area has a number of distinct areas, specialising in different manufacturing processes.
PCB Manufacture
Mainly for through-hole PCB assembly & some Surface-Mount based circuits.
Wiring
Ranging from internal wiring of control products to full-scale panel wiring projects
Polyurethane Potting
To improve moisture protection & heat transfer characteristics, many of United Automations products are sealed with polyurethane resin.
Wave Soldering
For volume production, most PCBs are populated, cropped & soldered using our cropping & wave-soldering machines.
Mechanical Workshop
Various types of fabrication & engineering equipment are used to machine metal or plastic parts & build mechanical assemblies as part of complete electrical controllers.
PIC Programming
Many of our products are designed around dedicated software and therefore PIC processors need to be programmed in-house, in our ESH area.
Wire-Cutting & Stripping
Cables and wires are normally prepared using our wire-cutting and stripping equipment, maintaining quality and improving efficiencies.
3-Phase & 1-Phase Testing
All manufactured products require full-testing and therefore we have various areas & test equipment to carry out both 3-phase & single-phase testing.
